I’m excited to share a bit of wonderful news. Kaz and Kika was included in Cat Coquillette’s 2026 Trend Report, an annual industry forecast widely followed by artists, art directors, and licensing professionals.
Even more exciting, this year’s Trend Report was featured in Skillshare’s newsletter, The Path, which goes out to over one million subscribers. Being part of a report with that level of reach is a huge honor – thank you, Cat Coquillette.
Cat’s Trend Report is known for its thoughtful, research-driven approach to forecasting visual trends specifically through the lens of art licensing and surface design. Each year, Cat combines runway references, consumer brands, and cultural signals with selected artwork from artists whose work aligns with emerging trends.
For 2026, she also spotlighted a curated group of artists from her CatCoq Collective, highlighting designers who are actively building strong, licensable portfolios and professional creative practices. Kaz and Kika was proud to be included among that group.
My work appears in the Feathers & Plumage section, a trend centered on softness, movement, and expressive texture. Feather motifs – whether stylized, abstracted, or painterly – are re-emerging as a key visual direction, translating beautifully into surface pattern design across home, fashion, and stationery categories. Seeing Kaz and Kika artwork featured alongside major fashion houses and brands such as Balenciaga, Valentino, Hermès, and Mint Velvet was a blast.
If you’d like to explore the full scope of Cat Coquillette’s 2026 visual forecasts, you can download the complete Trend Report directly from Cat here.
It’s an inspiring resource for anyone working in illustration, surface pattern design, or creative product development, and I’m deeply grateful to be included in this year’s edition.
